Community & Industry Involvement
Ever since our founding in 1977, our firm has made community and industry involvement one of our top priorities. We have supported a significant number of causes over the years, and many of our attorneys and professionals play active roles in a variety of important local and national organizations. Here are some examples of our efforts:

>> Cuban American Bar Association 39th Annual Gala - The firm is proud to serve as a “Socio” sponsor of the Cuban American Bar Association’s 39th Annual Gala, which will take place on the evening of Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the JW Marriott Marquis in downtown Miami. The gala, which is CABA’s largest event of the year, will be attended by more than 1,000 guests, including federal and state judges, prominent attorneys, federal, state and local elected officials, business leaders, and other individuals who have made a significant impact in our community. Funds raised from the gala will benefit the Cuban American Bar Foundation, which provides scholarships to worthy law students throughout the State of Florida, and the Cuban American Bar Association Pro Bono Project, which offers free legal services to members of our community. >> Mater Foundation “Casino Night” - The firm served as a corporate sponsor for the Mater Foundation’s annual “Casino Night” fundraiser at the Robert W. Shane Center in Miami Beach on November 16, 2012. The proceeds from the event are used to fund scholarships for juniors at the Mater Academy in Miami to attend postsecondary summer enrichment programs at prestigious universities.


>> The "I Have A Dream" Foundation - The Miami chapter of this important national organization hosted its annual gala dinner at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach on November 14, 2012, and the firm was proud to serve as a “Dreamer Table Sponsor” at the event. The organization works to ensure that all children have the opportunity to pursue higher education by providing children in low-income communities with guaranteed tuition support and equipping them with the skills, knowledge and habits that they will need to succeed in college and beyond. >> Community Associations Institute Southeast Florida Chapter 2012 Annual Golf Tournament - The firm has been an active member of the Southeast Chapter of the Community Associations Institute for many years, and for 2012 we are proud to sponsor the chapter’s annual golf tournament, which is one of its premier annual events. The tournament begins with a shotgun start at noon on Friday, Oct. 26, at the beautiful Jacaranda Country Club in Plantation, and registration, which costs $125 per golfer, starts at 11 a.m. Prizes and trophies will be awarded immediately following the tournament, which is always one of the best networking events of the year for the group’s members and guests. >> Raise the Bar Silent Auction and Reception Benefitting the Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade - The firm is proud to be a corporate sponsor of the 2012 edition of Raise the Bar, the 8th annual silent auction and reception benefitting the Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade. The event is taking place on Thursday, June 7, 2012, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Miami Center (201 S. Biscayne Blvd.), and tickets are available for just a $35 donation by clicking here. The Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade empowers women and girls through advocacy and funding for innovative initiatives that build equality, foster social change, and create community partnerships. Since 1993, Women’s Fund has awarded more than $3 million to a wide range of innovative programs that provide women and girls the skills and resources necessary to improve their lives.

>> 2012 Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run - Siegfried, Rivera, Lerner, De La Torre & Sobel was a proud supporter and participant in the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run in downtown Miami on April 26. The event, which benefits the American Red Cross, drew more than 22,000 runners to Bayfront Park for the 5k run, and the law firm’s team was very proud to take part. >> The Solivita Cares World's Largest Zumba Class, benefitting the American Cancer Society - The firm is proud to sponsor this event by AV Homes (formerly Avatar) at its Solivita community in Kissimmee, FL, which took place on March 10, 2012. This official Guinness World Records event set the new record with more than 2,013 guests taking part in the course on Zumba, the Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that has become popular around the globe. All of the proceeds from this event benefitted the American Cancer Society.
>> Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's Take Steps - The firm is proud to sponsor the Fort Lauderdale edition of Take Steps, the CCFA's largest annual fundraising event. The walk-a-thon will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 6 p.m. at Huizenga Park in Fort Lauderdale. The firm also served as the "Comic Relief Sponsor" for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America's 2nd annual "Comedy Night," which took place at on Feb. 16, 2011, at the Improv Comedy Club at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood. The proceeds from these events benefit the foundation, which focuses on funding research to find a cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and improving the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. The organization works to ensure that all children have the opportunity to pursue higher education by providing children in low-income communities with guaranteed tuition support and equipping them with the skills, knowledge and habits that they will need to succeed in college and beyond.
>> The 20th Annual Huntington's Disease Triathlon - The firm has served as a sponsor for this annual event for years, and we continued our commitment by sponsoring the 2011 edition which took place on July 31 at the Miami Marine Stadium in Key Biscayne.
>> BASF's 5th Annual Havana Night - The firm was proud to serve as a sponsor of the premier annual event of the Builders Association of South Florida, which took place at the Grove Isle Hotel on August 6, 2011, and featured a silent auction benefitting the Children's Cancer Caring Center.
